The Mara River is a major obstacle to the animals on the Migration and the favourite spot for all animal wildlife photographers when the great migration occurs. When the river becomes swollen you will be lucky to see some of the biggest crocodiles in Africa. This day could be your most thrilling day with the opportunity to spot the Big Fives on the vast savannah and the wildlife roaming around you – you will be in the heart of this wildlife – rich reserve. The reserve also offers fantastic opportunities for viewing big cats – breath-taking views of lioness with cubes will be something for you to remember and treasure. Today you will have one of your most memorable lunches – we will have a picnic on Kenyan and Tanzanian border where Maasai Mara stretches into Serengeti. A full day in the Maasai Mara will follow with dinner at the campsite.

BEST TIME TO VISIT

Wildlife viewing is good year-round but the best months are during the dry season from late June to October. The wildebeest migration usually reaches the Masai Mara in July and remains until October when they move back to the Serengeti in Tanzania.
